Upper Ocoee River Rafting
Olympic Run
Most known as the Olympic River for hosting the canoe and kayaking events in the 1996 Olympic games. The Upper Ocoee offers world class whitewater mixed with incredible scenery. With many class IV rapids and large gradient drop this section is fast and exciting.
The trip starts at the base of the dam where you float through vegetation, enjoy the views, and get warmed up for the first mile. Then you drop into "Mikey's Ledge," the first class IV rapid that starts the excitement. At the half way point you will see the start of the Olympic section, a quarter mile of quick continuous whitewater that is highlighted by back-to-back rapids, "Godzilla" and "Humungous." After leaving the Olympic section you plunge into "Roach Motel" and end with "Edge of the World." The trip finishes with a short lake float or swim which ever you choose to the take-out.
All Upper Ocoee River trips are fully guided and no experience is necessary.
