WHAT WE PROVIDE FOR
WHITEWATER RAFTING |
Carolina Ocoee Rafting will provide all necessary equipment
for your rafting trip, including river rafts, life vests, paddles for each
participant, and helmets where required or requested. We provide transportation
to and from the river from our Rafting Outpost Building at Topton, NC.

WHAT TO WEAR WHEN
WHITEWATER RAFTING |
Wear light weigh clothing that you can get wet in. Shorts
and T-shirts are popular options. You may want to wear swimwear under your
shorts and T's. Blue jeans and sweat suits are not popular options because they
are thick cotton, heavy when wet, and dry slowly. Your clothing type is
optional, just wear something that you can comfortably get wet in! You must
wear shoes that stay on your feet. River sandals or water shoes are great
options. Tennis shoes are ok too. Don't wear flip-flop or thong type sandals as
they will come off your feet. In cooler weather you may want to wear a nylon
type splash jacket or nylon or woolen blend clothing.
The raft outpost sells water shoes and river sandals if you
want to purchase a pair, or we do rentals of the zip up type skin diver booties
that keep your feet warm for only $5.00. Wetsuit rentals for cooler weather
rafting in the spring or fall or on rainy days are $8.00, or you can get the
combo of both wetsuit and booties for only $11.00 per set. Splash wear (nylon
jacket & pants to wear over your clothes-similar to a rain suit) is
available free of charge at the outpost building upon request.
|
WHAT TO BRING ON YOUR
WHITEWATER RAFTING TRIP |
Bring a change of dry clothes and a towel, so you can change
back into your dry clothes after the rafting trip. You may also need water
proof sunscreen. If you wear eyeglasses or sunglasses be sure to have a glasses
holder (the ones that float are better) to secure them while you're on the
river.
The raft outpost sells sunscreen, a big selection of
eyeglass retainers (including the ones that float), and dry boxes
Be sure to eat before the rafting trip. You will definitely
be hungry again after the trip. Food and drink is not taken on the river.

LIABILITY RELEASE
WAIVERS |
Everyone must sign a liability release waiver and travel at
your own risk. A parent or legal guardian must sign for children under the age
of 18 years. If a parent or legal guardian will not be accompanying the child,
please DOWNLOAD RELEASE WAIVER
for parents and children to sign and bring them with you to the
raft building on the day of the trip. You may call 800 468 7238 or 828 488 6345
to have a waiver faxed to you.
We recommend that you print our
DRIVING DIRECTIONS
from the website to bring with you on the trip. The GPS navigation devices may
not pick up our location. If your GPS device accepts coordinates, we have them
available on the website too. Map Quest, Google Maps and other similar
directional aids frequently don't give the best travel directions. Your best
option is to print and use our directions.
