Family White Water Rafting • Western North Carolina

The popular Nantahala River offers a fun and exciting 8
½ mile whitewater rafting trip through the scenic Nantahala National
Forest of Western North Carolina. Nantahala River has class 2 and 3 whitewater
and is a fun and exciting rafting trip that is family friendly for children as
young as 7 years old or who weigh at least 60 pounds. The Nantahala hosts
families, church groups, boyscout and girlscout groups, summer camp groups,
corporate retreats, and summer vacation visitors who are just discovering the
adventure of whitewater rafting. The Nantahala is also very popular with
experienced paddlers. It has almost continuous class two and three whitewater,
and has hosted training for the Olympic teams, as well as many river
competitions. Guests also appreciate the 8 ½ miles of pristine natural
beauty offered by the Nantahala setting.
We suggest the Nantahala for families with children under 12
years old, or for anyone who wants to start their rafting adventures on class 2
and 3 whitewater the first day, then do the Ocoee with the class 3 and 4
whitewater the second day. The Nantahala and the Ocoee whitewater rafting trips
are the two most popular whitewater rafting adventures in the US, and you
wouldn't want to miss either one of them.
