Cheoah River Whitewater Rafting Trips
• Cheoah River •
Challenging Whitewater Rafting • Experience Necessary
The Cheoah River is a typical Appalachian Creek nestled in
the mountains of Western North Carolina. But, for a few times each year the dam
opens creating one of the countrys most extreme whitewater adventures.
The class IV+ River starts out with technical rock and boulder dodging and then
moves into incredible drops and giant waves. The Cheoah is the biggest river
that Carolina Outfitters offer and is perfect for the extreme adventure
seeker.

The Cheoah River is one of the most demanding rivers on the
east coast. Because of the physical demands of this river we require that all
guests have had paddled class III-IV water before as well as be in good
physical condition. The Cheoah is a technical river that requires strong
paddling and precise timing to maneuver. We enjoy providing this trip but would
like everyone that participates in whitewater rafting to progress at a safe and
informed pace through experiencing other class III and IV Rivers to gauge if
this is the level river for them. We do this for your safety and for the safety
of our other guests. If you are interested in working up to this level we can
book you a trip on the Ocoee and start the progression.
